This Live Line Truck is over 10 years old and has been used regularly onsite by our client and his team. The cupboards and deck had been assessed as beyond repair, along with a number of other areas including Gas Struts, Drawslides, Rubber seal etc. At this point a full rebuild was requested and so The MRU Team got to work.
The first step was to remove everything off the deck including all of the cupboards, ladder racks, cable drums and other accessories. All of the doors were sanded down before the cupboards were inspected for holes and leaks; anything detected was plated and welded. Everything was rust treated before being painted hammertone, and five floor planks were beyond saving so those were replaced.
The locks on the cupboards were serviced and repaired, and the bolts in the drawers and rear gate have been replaced with new ones. All Drawslides, Gas Struts and electrical components were assessed and replaced if necessary. The rubber seal was replaced on the Toolboxes and Cupboards as the majority had perished leaving things not watertight.
The outside of the cupboards have been painted white, along with the Ladder Racks and a brand new door our Technicians fabricated for the underslung box. The Cable Drum Stands were painted black and the Grab Handles yellow to give everything a refresh. A new Cargo Net has been installed at the rear, along with grip steps for added extra safety measure.
New Lighting has been installed in each cupboard along with one of the orange Beacons, and the rear Worklights were cleaned up and re-fitted. The side markers have been replaced and a new license plate light has been installed. The Truck also had new ladder straps installed onsite, as well as a brand new Vice.
Overall, this mammoth job was absolutely a team effort as everyone had a hand in it at some point. We are incredibly proud of our Technicians, and our client will be able to get back out on the road servicing the local area with a much needed upgrade!
